 Global Explorers

Travel Channel is proud to help provide travel opportunities for students who otherwise wouldn’t have the resources to travel. In 2011, we are excited to support Global Explorers, a nonprofit organization, and the   American Youth Leadership Program with Cambodia, an initiative of the US Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Youth Programs Division.

Through this program, Travel Channel will help educate 30 students and 5 educators as they prepare to travel to Cambodia in June 2011. Students will have the chance to immerse themselves in Cambodia’s vibrant and resilient culture, while also focusing on the environmental conservation and climate-change issues. The pre-travel curriculum will include a journalism workshop hosted by Travel Channel. In this workshop, the students will receive donated Flip cameras and learn how to share the lessons they learn from their experiences abroad.
