1-DAY ADVANCED CAMERA WORKSHOP

(SATURDAY, 9AM - 5:30PM)

Have you ever been watching a video and wondered, "How did they do that?" The Travel Channel Academy wants to draw back the curtain on the tools used by filmmakers and pass them along to you. This class combines examples and explanations with hands-on demonstrations to give students the means to master advanced shooting techniques.

Advanced Camera will cover many aspects of manual camera control, camera movement, lighting and professional audio. Once this course is completed, students will have the tools to adapt their shooting to various situations.

1-DAY ADVANCED EDITING WORKSHOP

(SUNDAY, 9AM - 5:30PM)

Do you want to take your editing to the next level? Have a few tools in Final Cut that you aren't taking advantage of? If you answered yes, then The Travel Channel Academy Advanced Editing Course is for you. Whether you are looking to improve upon the skills learned in the TCA boot camp or want to make your editing broadcast quality, this advanced one-day course is a must.

Students will be given hands on training in a wide range of editing techniques using travel footage. From media management, to importing music, to effects and audio mixing, to exporting across multiple applications, this class will challenge students across a wide range of skills and experience.

Course Pre-Requisites

Students must have either completed the 4-Day Travel Channel Academy Boot Camp.

OR, for the Advanced Camera course, you must be familiar with basic camera techniques and camera functions. If you've only used your camera in "automatic," that's fine.

OR, for the Advanced Editing course, you must be familiar with basic Final Cut editing techniques and functions such as how to capture footage, how to do an insert/overwrite edit, knowledge of track routing and how to move clips around the timeline.

1-Day Advanced Camera Course (9AM - 5:30PM):

1-Day Advanced Editing Course (9AM - 5:30PM):

• Media Management
• Color Correction
• Motion and Effects
• Advanced Audio Mixing
• File Exporting & Compressions

TUITION AND EQUIPMENT RENTAL FEES:

* If you bring your own video camera you must be familiar with your camera's manual settings such as Focus, Iris, Shutter Speed, Gain and White Balance and/or bring your camera's user manual. You must also bring a fully charged batteries, your battery charger, and, if your camera is tape-based, blank tapes.

** If you bring your own Apple MacBook or MacBook Pro laptop you will need to have either Final Cut Pro 5.0 or later or Final Cut Express HD 4 or later installed.
