Digital Filmmaking Course Schedule
To make truly great travel content, you need a well rounded view of production and not just one aspect of it. For that reason, we offer comprehensive courses that offer everything from shooting to editing to the legal aspects of production, and most importantly, the art of storytelling. The skills we teach you will help you to not only tell a story, but to stand out in the digital crowd.

- Shooting 101 Lecture
- Field Shooting Assignment #1
- First Group Screening (of raw footage) and Critique
DAY TWO (9AM-7PM):
- Storytelling 101 Lecture
- Intro to Final Cut Pro Lecture
- Editing Assignment #1
- Group Screening of 1st Edited Piece and Critique
DAY THREE (9AM-7PM):
- Overview of Production Legal Considerations
- Advanced Storytelling Lecture
- Field Shooting Assignment #2
- Editing Assignment #2
DAY FOUR (9AM-5:30PM):
- Your Future in the Digital Landscape Lecture
- How to Stay Connected with Travel Channel
- Final Cut Pro Audio Lecture
- Complete Editing 2nd Video
- Final Group Screening and Critique
TUITION AND EQUIPMENT RENTAL FEES:

* A $500 non-refundable deposit will hold your space in the class if you choose not to pay in full at time of registration. Remaining balance is due 2 weeks prior to selected course date.
** A FireWire equipped video camera (any make or model) and Mac laptop (with Mac OSX 10.4.9 or newer) and Final Cut Express (HD version 3.5 or newer) or Final Cut Pro are required for the class. You may either bring your own equipment if available or rent from us. If you bring your own equipment, please be sure to bring your own tape stock, FireWire cable, headphones and, if desired, a 2-button mouse.
If you bring your own equipment, please make sure that you have checked that everything is working before the course and that your camera is compatible with the editing software you will be using. If you are bringing your own camera and renting a laptop from the Academy then please tell us when you register what type of camera you will be using so we can be sure it will work with our software.
