Featured TCA Alumna: Allison Otto
Allison graduated from Travel Channel Channel Academy in May 2007 and immediately hit the open road with video camera in hand to capture her experiences volunteering at a nature preserve on the Galapagos Islands, rappelling off waterfalls in California, cross-country ski racing in Colorado, pony trekking across the Welsh moors, playing baseball in the Dominican Republic, bargaining for antique bears at London's Portobello Market, running in the 7th inning sausage race at Milwaukee's Miller Park dressed as a Bavarian sausage, and hiking deep into Mexico's Copper Canyon.

Allison immediately caught our eye due to her quick wit, adventurous spirit, natural gift of storytelling and willingness to keep perfecting her craft through a lot of trial and error. To date, we've licensed 5 of her videos, commissioned her to do 9+ projects and now have her on contract to create a webisode for us about America's bizarre roadside attractions. In her former life, Allison spent years as a baseball reporter covering the LA Dodgers, competed in marathons in Italy, LA and San Fran, and in her spare time graduated from Stanford with a BA in Communications and an MA in Sociology.

In Allison's own words, the best part about being a TJ is that, "I get the chance to share with others just how breathtaking, inspiring, wondrous and quirky our world can be, and I hope my videos provide insights into other places and cultures and inspire people to take journeys of their own!"
