The Watarase hot spring on the banks of the Totsu River has only been open a few years. Consequently this is an unspoiled stretch of rock pools surrounded by a beautiful, rugged wilderness. The separate men and women's bathing facilities are wooden indoor baths and two open-air baths located next to the river. Both offer fantastic views of the river and surrounding cliffs and forest. The water is classified as sodium hydrogen-carbonate and is used to treat muscle pains, arthritis, rheumatism, nervousness, and stress.
