This is the real botanical jewel in the crown. Founded by the scientist, Enric Sventenius, who died in a road accident in the mid-1970s, this unique garden erected on the side of a ravine has examples of every kind of vegetation found on the Canaries. There are leafy laurisilva, parched xerofila from the coasts, palm trees, cacti, beautiful aeonium, tabaibales and cardonales (giant cacti). Also, internationally renowned research into the flora of the Canary Islands is being done here, together with work on their protection and distribution. For visiting hours, call ahead.
