The tragic death of Princess Diana left many bereaved around the world. Since then, several Diana shrines have sprung up all over in her memory. One such small yet honest tribute to the Princess, is Cafe Diana opposite the Kensington Palace Garden Gates. Established in 1989, the cafe owner named the place for the Princess when he once saw her passing by with her entourage. The Princess too graced the cafe in person on several occasions to sample the sandwiches, salads, soups and beverages on offer here. The cafe also serves heavier English and Arabic fare for lunch. The food is good and the location is convenient. But what works for this place are the walls plastered with photos of the departed Princess that evoke sad memories. It is a magnet for tourists and conspiracy buffs.
