Hurricane season is in full swing, and thoughts of high winds and torrential downpours may have you re-considering your Labor Day weekend plans. We checked in with the meteorologists at weathertrends360 – experts in long-term forecasting – to get the forecast for the holiday, which, historically, falls extremely close to the peak of the Atlantic hurricane season. So how can you be fairly sure that a storm won’t ruin your vacation? Pack up the car and head to one of these beaches, all of which are low-risk for a strong summer storm over Labor Day weekend.

This Labor Day, show your support for New Jersey’s beloved coastline with a trip to one of the best Jersey Shore beaches. The area may have been devastated by Hurricane Sandy, but shore residents and businesses have proved that they’re “Jersey Strong,” and have rapidly rebuilt in time for the summer season. So do yourself (and the local businesses) a favor and book a stay in one of the Jersey Shore’s beach towns – the weather will be beautiful!

East Coast vacationers should make the trek across the Sagamore (or Bourne!) Bridge this Labor Day weekend and hit the picturesque beaches of “The Cape.” In your downtime, go antiquing in Sandwich, visit the Chatham candy store, peruse the art galleries (or have a few oysters at the Beachcomber) in Wellfleet. The Cape also has plenty of activities for the kids – you wont have to drive far to find a mini-golf course.
