Why we like it – A good choice for your next round of vacation brainstorming, Jetsetter was developed by the cult shopping service, Gilt. Like Gilt, Jetsetter offers luxury-oriented sales for a limited amount of time, only in this case the sales are on upscale travel experiences like spas and luxury hotels.

You can visit the app when the mood strikes, or set it to notify you when offers are about to expire. The photography is slick, the bargains are real and you can book right on your phone. Skip the download if luxury travel isn’t your thing, but if you’d like to stretch a modest travel budget into a pampered vacation to remember, put Jetsetter on your list.

Improvements we’d like to see – The app lists prices “from $120/night,” for instance, so unless you choose off-peak travel days and contact the travel companies directly to determine tax amounts, you won’t know the actual price until you get further into the booking process. The lack of an Android or BlackBerry version is also a major drawback.
