After lending his hit song 'Beat It' to a campaign against drunk driving, Michael Jackson received the Presidential Special Achievement Award from President Ronald Reagan in 1984.

Michael Jackson, a multi-platinum recording artist, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 19, 2001.
