This year, 6 new breeds, including the Finnish Lapphund and the Cesky Terrier, will make their debut at Westminster Kennel Club’s 136th Annual Dog Show.
David Frei, the Westminster Kennel Club’s director of communications, leads Hickory, a Scottish Deerhound and reigning Best in Show champion, across 7th Avenue at 31st Street, followed by 5 new breeds allowed to enter this year’s dog show.

Proud owner, Jose Barrera, holds up Alma Duce, a Xoloitzcuintli (show-lo-itz-quint-ly), for the cameras. Alma only traveled 5 blocks south for the shoot. She wears a handmade jade collar from her owner, a jeweler to the stars.
Hoss, pictured, traveled all the way from Cincinnati for the press conference, the farthest of all the dogs.
Katrina, a Cesky Terrier, looks up at owner Loren Marino during the press conference that followed the 7th Avenue walk.
Eowyn, a Norwegian Lundehund, gets up close and personal. She traveled with her owner from Syracuse, NY, for the walk.
Owner Harvey Sanderson holds up Eowyn's paw for the camera. Norwegian Lundehunds are known for their 5-fingered paws, which make them excellent mountain climbers.
Katrina, a Cesky Terrier, poses for the cameras. She traveled with her owner from Manchester, NJ.
Myles, a Finnish Lapphund, arrived from the Bronx with excited owner Barbara Kennedy.
Game Changer, an American English Coonhound, traveled with owner Richard Moore, from Jamaica Estates in the NYC borough of Queens.
