Airport 24/7: The Passenger Pictures

When the TSA encounters a passenger with a knife hidden in the sole of his sneaker, a full-scale security response is issued to investigate. See behind-the-scenes photos from this episode.

After discovering a knife concealed in a shoe, Daniel and the TSA agents radio all agencies to notify them of the security scare.

Ashutosh looks into flight information for missing passengers, while Stefan radios a last call for Frankfurt over the loudspeaker.

Stefan knows that if the missing passengers don't show up in time, the ramp workers will have to take their checked baggage off the flight -- which could result in a delay for Lufthansa.

TSA agent engages in a second screening of a carry-on item, checking for prohibited items like liquids, gels and aerosols over 3.4 ounces.

TSA agents discuss the wildest items that they’ve seen come through the checkpoint. Today, it's a large jar of peanut butter and a loaded firearm that set off their radar.

The Lufthansa flight has landed, and cargo is being offloaded. Customs and Border Protection officers are prepared to tackle one of the largest freighters that this airfield has ever seen: the Airbus A380.
