Fuente Alemana
Fuente Alemana has been around for more than 50 years serving fresh and delicious lomitos (sandwiches). Each one is prepared fresh on a grill located just a couple feet from the counter where customers have a bird’s-eye view. Pork is the main ingredient as well as fresh bread, avocado and homemade mayo.

Café Caribe
Café Caribe is one of the many Café con Piernas or “coffee with legs” located in Santiago. Customers are treated to delicious espresso drinks.

El Hoyo
Tony and local friend Raoul Pinno go for lunch at a local cantina, El Hoyo. This establishment has been around since 1912 and serves traditional Chilean fare. Tony and Raoul order the drink special, Terremoto, white wine with pineapple sorbet; Pernil con Papas, a roasted pork shoulder served with boiled potatoes; Arrollado con Papas, rolled pork; and a plate of blood sausage and tongue.

Las Deliciosas
About an hour and a half west of Santiago, Tony and local friend Jorge Sotomayor take the scenic route down the coastline starting in Concon. Their first stop is Las Deliciosas, famous for their homemade empanadas. Tony and Jorge sample the local specialty – machas, Chilean razor clams.

Sibaritico
Another Chilean must-have is the foot-long hot dog, or completo as they are known in Chile. At Sibaritico Jorge and Tony order completos with fresh avocado and homemade mayo.

Don Vittorio
Just a couple blocks off the water is a 100-year-old market known as Mercado Puerto. Jorge and Tony choose from the 20 or 30 small eateries serving fresh fish and traditional Chilean recipes. At Don Vittorio they sample the machas parmesana (razor clams with parmesan) and conger eel.

Bar La Playa
Tony and Jorge finish their visit to Valparaiso with a drink at one of the old sailor bars located just off the port. Bar la Playa is full of locals and has been a fixture in the port for over 100 years.

Donde el Gordito
Located in scenic Puerto Varas just blocks from the lake and volcanoes that make the region famous, Tony meets local friend Alfredo Sauss for a meal of sea bass, king crab and abalone.

Activities
La Vega Central / La Vega Chica
The Vega Central and the Vega Chica are side-by-side markets in Santiago offering loads of fresh produce, meats, groceries and small counter-style eateries. Tony and local friend Jorge Sotomayor explore some food stalls and sample sopaipillas (fried pumpkin bread), Mote con Huesillo (a refreshing peach and barley drink), as well as a meal at Donde Carmencita. Where they order some local specialties including Caldo Pata (hoof soup), Chunchules (braided intestine) and Pastel de Choclo (Chilean corn pie).

Cliffs Preserve
The Cliffs Preserve is located at the very top of Patagonia just as the continent begins to break up into an archipelago. Here Tony meets local hosts Vick Johnson and Greg Locke and is treated to a meal of fresh seafood and locally raised meats and veggies.
