With Bridget's help, we've pulled together some tips for your next trip to the beach:
Sunscreen, Sunscreen, Sunscreen
We can’t stress it enough. Apply it to keep your skin looking young and cancer free. Bridget's a SPF 15 kind of gal.
Mix It Up!
A lazy day at the beach is the perfect opportunity to try a new music genre or artist. Bridget has everything from Rob Zombie to the Andrews Sisters on her iPod.
To Tan or Not to Tan?
Bridget doesn’t rely on the damaging rays of the sun for her healthy glow. She uses Lorac's TANtalizer Body Bronzing Luminizer and the occasional spray-on tan at Portofino Sun Center & Spa in Beverly Hills before big events.
Take a Risk
Let the beach vibe free you from your inhibitions. To be like Bridget:
~ Try something athletic -– beach volleyball or surfing.
~ Go a little bit rock 'n' roll with a skimpy bikini and a big temporary tattoo.
~ Accessorize with big hoop earrings and an armful of bangles.
~ Wear a super-short skirt and super-high heels.
~ Paint your toenails a crazy, eye-catching color.
~ Flirt with the hot guy on a nearby towel.
~ Don’t be afraid to go nude on appropriate beaches.
Pettiness Prohibited on the Beach
Bridget describes herself as being charismatic, ambitious and caring. Own who you are, and try to project your best personality traits. A great sense of humor can go a long way, but a mean spirit and jealousy are big turn-offs for most people.
Beach Etiquette
Respect your fellow beachgoers; don’t be inconsiderate when it comes to personal space, noise and alcohol consumption.
What's in Bridget's Beach Bag?
Bridget wouldn't think of hitting the sand without sunscreen, a towel, flip-flops, sunglasses, a bikini, lip gloss, a camera, an iPod and magazines.
Beach Coupling
Bridget says, "Keep it spontaneous and fun!" Surprise your date with a romantic beach encounter.
Accentuate the Positive
Most women have some part of their body that they’re not happy with (even Bridget thinks her stomach could be firmer), but a confident smile and a pretty beach sarong can work wonders.
"Must-See" List
Bridget suggests making a list of travel goals or plans for rainy-day inspiration. Lake Cuomo, Pompei, Santorini and Ibiza are just a few of the destinations on Bridget's list.
One-Stop Shopping
Bridget recommends beach locations where you can do more than just lay on a towel or play in the surf. There should be adventure, cocktails, spa treatments and, of course, shopping.
I Think I Can
Bridget always wanted to host her own travel show as a career, and now she's doing it on the Travel Channel. So don't be afraid to daydream. Think big and visualize what you want out of life.
