Get to know the man behind “Dhani Tackles the Globe” a little better.
What’s on your iPod?
You never know what you might find on my iPod. I have everything from Muddy Waters and Pantera to Jay-Z and Luciano Pavarotti. I enjoy all types of jazz like music from Wynton Marsalis and Louis Armstrong, as well as country music from Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. I also have an assortment of reggaeton and music from Trinidad and lots and lots of reggae like Bob Marley, Steel Pulse and Morgan Heritage.
Why do you consider yourself a Renaissance man?
I see myself as a man who likes to do many things. A man who chooses to live life, rather than have someone live it for me.
How do you juggle your football career with your new commitments with Travel Channel?
I try to commit myself to the task at hand, enjoy what I do and take a break every once in a while.
How often do you work out?
I work out every day, some days less than others. I always eat well and channel good energy.
What are your teammates saying about your “other life” as a Travel Channel host?
All of my teammates want to come with me!
When you are not working, what do you like to do?
It depends on how I feel and what mood I’m in. It can range from riding my bike and working out to writing poetry or reading a good book.
What do you hope Travel Channel viewers will get out of this show?
I hope my travels broaden their imaginations and open their minds to new cultures and new experiences.
