After months of research, founder Nolan Meadnis noticed a lack of professional paranormal investigation groups in a large and popular Orange County market. Instead of applying to join an existing group, he hand-picked a few friends, purchased the necessary equipment, and in 2008, the Orange County Paranormal Society (OCPS) was born.
OCPS now consists of 12 members with diverse backgrounds ranging from law enforcement to construction. The team attributes their quick success to everyone being a team player and knowing their roles in the group. Adele Pulice is the team's Research & Development Director. Michael Drouin runs the Tech Department, and Sean Milligan is the main camera operator. Investigators include Lead Investigator Chris Shimaoka, Brigid Anderson, Juli Meadnis, Trent LeClaire, Chris Wills, Jill Briscoe and Richard DeLaCoudray. The group also has help from correspondent Josh Davis, who accesses property information all the way from Denver, CO.
OCPS' best investigation was the well-known El Adobe de Capistrano restaurant located in San Juan Capistrano, CA. It has been the topic of Orange County folklore for years. Although no concrete evidence was captured other than K2 activity, the evening was filled with personal experiences. The property was built in 1794, so its 200 years of history made the investigation special.
OCPS is a scientific-based team. They investigate without the use of psychics or mediums and rely on their equipment to document activity. They have the flexibility to set up an investigation in as little as a few hours after being contacted.
