Paranormal Investigators of Kenosha is a volunteer research team that is dedicated to the study, observation and documentation of ghosts and haunted locations in southeastern Wisconsin and the surrounding areas. Together they have been helping their haunted neighbors since October 2005.
Kenosha Paranormal members include (pictured from left to right) Jamie Kersine, R.C. Shatkins Jr., Candy Shatkins and Carrie Ricard. Originally founded by husband and wife R.C. and Candy, Carrie was the first member to join soon followed by Jamie in early 2006. The team equally shares all aspects of an investigation.
Kenosha Paranormal enjoys Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures style of investigating because it's extremely similar to the manner in which they conduct their own. They're a group of four driven, like-minded individuals who work in a controlled, yet relaxed environment. By keeping membership at a minimum they find it easier to coordinate their schedules and keep contamination of the data collected to an absolute minimum. Evidence that is collected and presented to their clients is raw footage or audio, not enhanced in any way.
As a group they support their community by conducting investigations free of charge. They've organized fieldtrips, tours and investigations of historical buildings where the proceeds have gone directly back into the site's restoration fund. They've also made some local guest appearances where the proceeds have gone to benefit the site.
Kenosha Paranormal has collected some very compelling evidence, including audio best described as "ghost music" recorded in a bedroom of an unoccupied house. One member also had a voice whisper her name into her audio recorder.
Next they'll be traveling to northern Illinois to investigate a former schoolhouse built in 1916 that's been converted into a familty home. The family has witnessed shadow people, moving balls of light and full-bodied apparitions that sit on their bed, including a man with dark hair that wields a knife.
