Visitors can take a free 3-hour guided tour of the headquarters of CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research. CERN boasts the world's largest underground scientific facility, a 17-mile tunnel that runs through France and Switzerland.

Flea market
The prices in Geneva are so high that even the flea market is expensive, but you'll find a great collection of bric-a-brac to browse. The city flea market is held in the morning on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

Les Diablerets
A gorgeous 2-hour drive along Lake Geneva is up a winding mountain road to Les Diablerets, or little demons. It doesn't get more Swiss than this family resort, which offers winter sports from skiing and snowboarding to dog sledding.
