Mercedes Leigh Johnson, producer, Indigo Films
Mercedes began her media career in magazine publishing but soon discovered that she was destined for the small screen. She got her start in video in Boston producing projects for corporate and non-profit clients. Later, she moved back to her hometown of NYC where she worked on projects for PBS and network TV ranging from health education to reality dating to chocolate truffle tasting (definitely a favorite). Mercedes has lived in Spain, France and Germany and in 2006 happily decided to make San Francisco her home. Her avid curiosity is what fuels her (and what helped her find treasure hunting spots in the most obscure places). When she's not treasure hunting you can find her digging in the dirt (of her garden), doing yoga, and looking for her next travel adventure. |

Katie Gilbert, producer
Katie Gilbert got her start in television working for KTVU, FOX2. Once she made the leap to cable production, she dove head first into series work for the History Channel, National Geographic Television and Film, and the Weather Channel. Katie was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, attended the University of California, Berkeley (GO BEARS!) and currently resides in Northern California. When not combing the country for treasure, Katie is happiest wading through clear mountain rivers in search of rainbow trout or hitting the slopes of Lake Tahoe. |

Today, as an independent producer, she produces programs for television, non-profit organizations, and other independent clients. Many of Stacy's programs have garnered broadcast awards. She has a journalism degree from the University of Oregon and a graduate degree in Cultural Anthropology from Stanford University, which serves her well considering some of the culturally rich places she travels with "Treasure Hunter: Kirsten Gum." Stacy loves to travel -- and while she has explored out of the way places from the jungles of Cambodia to the mountains of Northern Pakistan, it is only on "Treasure Hunter: Kirsten Gum" that she has discovered some truly "off the beaten path" places in this county -- Hope, Alaska being one of her favorites. |
