The Himalaya Tourmaline Mine is near beautiful Mesa Grande in San Diego County, 20 miles east of Pala. The cost is currently $50 per person, which will allow you access to the mine for gem-screening all day. Due to limited space, reservations can be made. They are open all year. You can also purchase a bag of "pocket mud" to screen Himalaya Mine tourmaline at home for $20.
