Do's & Don'ts

Do feel free to walk along the streets of Las Vegas with an open container of alcohol.
Unlike most cities, Las Vegas has an open-bottle policy, as long as you're on the sidewalk.

Don't carry an open container of alcohol in your vehicle.
Until several years ago, Las Vegas permitted people to carry open containers of alcohol in their vehicles. Now, however, it's prohibited.

Don't joke about getting married in Las Vegas.
As most people have heard by now, getting married in Las Vegas is as easy as playing the lottery. Vegas wedding chapels and the courthouse are open 24 hours. In Vegas you don't need to take a blood test to get married, and you can find a chapel and minister for roughly $100.

Don't expect to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower if the winds are over 40 mph.
The best view in all of Las Vegas is from the observation deck at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel's Eiffel Tower. But if it's a windy night, expect for the observation deck to be closed. Once the winds reach 34 mph, the hotel starts to evacuate the tower.
