Video Submission Guidelines
Video Submission Guidelines
Videos should be less than 5 minutes long and created from footage shot by you or your family and friends. Footage cannot come from any other source, such as a broadcast television show or Internet broadcast. Any still images included in your video must follow the same rules.
Soundtracks cannot contain any music not created by you or by someone who has given you written permission to use their music. Even then, you must be sure that the person giving permission owns the rights to the music. It's not uncommon for artists to sell those rights to whoever is producing or publishing their recording.
Again PLEASE DO NOT use any music in your video unless you are CERTAIN you have the rights to use the music. Travel Channel cannot publish any video that contains copyrighted music.
To make it on to our site, video must be free from the following:
Copyrighted material.
Pornographic material of any kind.
Profanity, whether spoken or written.
Subject matter not related to travel.
File types we can accept include Quicktime, MPEG1, MPEG4, Windows Media or AVI.
Dimensions for your video should be 320 high x 240 wide. Larger and smaller sizes will be rejected.
We can't accept files larger than 100 MB.
How to Upload Your Files:
1. Verify your age
2. Read and click to agree to the legal agreement, which, among other things, says that we can use your video
3. Tell us who you are and also a little bit about your video
4. Browse to where you have the video file on your computer, select it and then click "Upload."
You're done. We will take a look at your video and, if it meets our guidelines, we'll post it on our site. And if we really like it, we may even put it on air. Due to the volume of submissions, it may take us a little while to post submitted videos.
