Bac Kan Province, Vietnam

Feel like exploring? Then take a trip in a dugout canoe around the glistening lake of Ba Be National Park in Vietnam, about 150 miles northwest of Hanoi. Since you’re already in a boat, you might as well seek out Puong Cave, home to 18 species of bats and a navigable river that passes through a mountain. While the lake may be the “precious jade of Vietnam,” there are waterfalls and ancient trees throughout the park that are just as exquisite.
