Cape Town, South Africa

Remember: Don't feed the penguins. But you can ogle them all you want from the boardwalks that weave through the endangered penguin colony portion of the Boulders section of Table Mountain National Park. While you can't swim with the adorable, endangered birds either, you can take a dip at one of the other pristine beaches that make up Boulders. Sheltered by fat chunks of granite, the “human” beach attracts families, thanks to modest currents and minimum waves -- a relative rarity in South Africa.
