Who needs nightlife? Visit Cala Figuera on the southern shore of Majorca, the largest of Spain's Balearic Islands in the Mediterranean Sea. Here, you will experience the tranquility of an unspoiled fishing village. Thanks to inaccessible beaches, this hamlet of white-painted, 19th-century houses has escaped global commercialism. Visitors here will see fishermen who work much like their grandfathers before them. With crystalline cobalt waters, the tiny port does cater to divers, however. A handful of moderately priced hotels and superior seafood restaurants welcome tourists as family.
