While touring California wine country, you may believe you’ve discovered the secret to time travel. Although Castello di Amorosa is simply a replica of a medieval castle, it’s easy to forget that as you cross the moat and step into the Great Hall, lined with frescoes painted by Italian artists. Drop by the torture chamber to see the 300-year old iron maiden, but don’t stop until you get to the Tasting Bar, where you can sip on the 94-point Il Barone Cabernet Sauvignon.
