When e.e. cummings wrote, “Stand with your lover on the ending earth,” he must have been thinking about the town of Manarola the honeymooners’ haven of Cinque Terre on the Italian Riviera. Lovers journey to this little town nestled atop rocky cliffs by strolling the Via dell’Amore, or the “Way of Love.” And if you aren’t in love already, a sunset amble here along this roughly half-mile path overlooking the Italian Mediterranean will make you fall in love.
