Nearly any view of the Grand Canyon will make your visit worthwhile, but one overlook guaranteed to be breathtaking is Toroweap, also known as Tuweep. Located on the western edge of the canyon’s northern rim, the area is one of the more remote in the national park, meaning no buses, no crowds, no railings. The overlook sits atop a near-vertical drop of 3,000 feet to the Colorado River, where the rafters look like ants and can be heard screaming as they go over Lava Falls, visible downstream. Sufferers of acrophobia should probably take a pass.
