Masai Mara, Kenya

The Masai Mara rains have passed and a blanket of grass has unfolded for the Serengeti’s residents -- one of the largest lion prides anywhere in the world, along with migrating antelopes, gazelles and millions of wildebeests. They’ve all come for the food, whether predator or prey. You’ve come for the show, whether up close via overland safari or high in the Kenyan sky via hot-air balloon. Either way, it’s a spectacular way to witness the wild kingdom, untamed and uncut.
