Zakynthos, Greece

Panagiotis -- a coaster ship that crashed onto the shores of Zante Island, the southernmost point in Greece’s Ionian Islands -- was said to be carrying contraband while being chased by the Greek navy at the time of its wreck in 1980. Subsequently nicknamed “Smuggler’s Cove,” Navagio Beach (Greek for “shipwreck”) teems with adventure-seekers eager to explore the defunct vessel and take guided tours of her storied remains.
