It’s arguably the most famous sunset in the world. In Oia, they know what matters most: the sunset. At dusk, the entire village stops what it’s doing and looks toward the west. Couples from around the globe come to this white-washed village, studded with blue domes, cave houses and bougainvillea-covered terraces, simply to watch the sun fall like a purple, blood-orange ball into the sea. Come early to find a seat, as every rock, curb and green space will be taken. Restaurants adjust by staying open late for post-sunset nibbling.
