Nassau, Bahamas

Little piggies no longer roam the beaches of Paradise Island, once called Hog Island -- unless you refer to the gluttony that hails from vacationers having a good time. Fine food, strong drinks and a glitzy nightlife are the hallmark of this islet, just off Nassau's north shore in the Bahamas. While a frenzy akin to Vegas exists in some places, areas of quiet beckon, too. Jaw-dropping sunsets at the Cloister, (a 14th-century structure disassembled and brought to the Bahamas by William Randolph Hearst), sugary beaches, and casuarina trees are all highlights.
