Ottawa, Canda

Ottawa is one of the world’s quiet capitals. Ask an American the capital of Canada, and the answer is likely to be Toronto or Montreal. But it’s Ottawa and Parliament Hill (called “The Hill” by locals) that are the heart of government, with Gothic Revival buildings softened by English gardens and monuments such as the Peace Tower, built to commemorate lives lost in World War I. How great is Parliament Hill for ambling? Three million people visit each year, which means someday, everyone will know the name of Canada’s capital.
