Snow Hill Island, Antarctica

You’ll certainly want to bring a jacket for your visit to this snow-capped island off the east coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, as temperatures can dip to 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Just make sure your jacket has a pocket big enough for your camera: You just may encounter emperor penguins, which trek through the island every March and April on their way to a designated breeding colony.
