Port Hercule

La Condamine District, Principality of Monaco

It was once used as a trading port by the Greeks and Romans but today Port Hercules is primarily a place to dock yachts – really, really big ones. One of the few deep-water ports on the French Riviera, this gleaming harbor surrounded on three sides by ornate hotels, coral-hued high-rises and manicured greenery can dock up to 700 vessels. Visitors are welcome to sleep on their boats but we suspect these globetrotter types will be checking into one of the opulent resorts nearby.
