Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica

Aren’t you due for a rainforest experience? Throw in some waterfalls and a suspended bridge more than 130 feet high and you’ve got the village of Quebrada Arroyo in the basin of Costa Rica’s Savegre River. The people of the Quebrada Arroyo community welcome visitors with homestays and homemade bread. Then it’s off to enjoy a hike in a nearby reserve, before a cool down in any number of freshwater swimming holes fed by the rainforest’s waterfalls.
