Kruger National Park, South Africa

One of 3 lodges in South Africa’s Singita Sabi Sand, a 45,000-acre private reserve, Boulders Lodge is aptly named for the large rock around which the property’s stunning wine cellar is now built. There is also a library, gym and health spa, though the main attractions here are the private guide-led game drives to see, among other animals, herds of elephants, prides of lions and, with any luck, elusive leopards. Lay your head in one of 12 suites, all of which have indoor and outdoor showers, fireplaces and private decks from which guests can continue wildlife viewing along the Sand River.
