Somme Bay Railway

Picardy, France

Choo-choo! Board a vintage train and be transported into the past. This Belle Epoque antique, complete with apple red, wooden cars and a steam engine, is a popular conveyance for tourists wishing to observe the compelling wildlife and lively landscape of France’s Somme estuary region. (Best known for being the site of several World War I battles, Somme can be found in the country’s lesser-traveled, north-central Picardy region.) With a route that circles the Bay of Somme, the train offers romantic dinner cruises, in addition to normal round-trip passage. All aboard!
