South Africa

What do lions eat? Well, impalas usually. But in a South African game reserve, the hunter and her prey enjoy a moment of truce. Either that or the lioness -- yes, the female is the hunter, while the male’s job is to look good with that sporty mane -- is appraising the impala buffet before she makes her move. The nonchalance of the impalas lying on the ground under the tree is truly astounding.
