Penang, Malaysia

The best thing about this quiet fishing village on the coast of Malaysia is the adjacent Penang National Park. It’s the world’s smallest national park, and it boasts the most pristine water in the region, with uncrowded beaches to boot. Watching you from the forest may well be a dusky leaf monkey or a crab-eating, long-tailed macaque just to remind you this isn’t Nantucket or Miami Beach.
