Thingvellir National Park
The otherworldly greens and purples of the Aurora Borealis northern lights are rendered even more spectacular when reflected in the waters of the Silfra fissure on the edge of Þingvellir Lake. The largest natural lake in Iceland, this body of water sits in a rift valley, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates drift further apart with each passing year.
