Taranaki, New Zealand

You don’t have to be a surfer to appreciate the natural splendor along the Taranaki coast of New Zealand’s North Island. Only two of the three 82-foot-tall rock formations known as the Three Sisters are still visible. The Tasman Sea eroded the third (and a fourth). Explore the rock walls of nearby caves for Maori petroglyphs, including one of an unusual 6-toed foot. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
