“Bali Ha'i may call you, any night, any day. In your heart, you'll hear it call you:
Come away... come away." These show tune lyrics refer to Bali Ha’i, the mythical island of fulfilled dreams in the Rodgers and Hammerstein musical South Pacific, but this beach in Kauai was the real-life setting for the 1958 movie version, hence its name: Bali Ha’i Point. And with a rainbow spreading out over the deep blue ocean, how could this not be that longed-for place of ultimate beachy happiness? The setting beckons like the South Pacific lyrics: "Here am I, your special island. Come to me!”
