With 400 years of history, Rosenborg Castle in Copenhagen lures visitors with is gilded masterpieces, stately art collection, crown jewels and royal regalia. Built by the Scandinavian king Christian IV in the 17th century, the castle is famed for its Knights’ Hall, which features coronation thrones watched over by 3 life-size silver lions. Not to be outdone, tapestry-draped hallways lead guests to the crown jewels of Denmark, which sparkle with table-cut stones, enamel and gold ornamentation.
