Nyhavn Canal

Copenhagen, Denmark

Meaning “New Harbor,” the 17th-century waterfront district of Nyhavn has a history rife with intrigue. Its colorful exploits attracted literary greats like Danish author Hans Christian Andersen who made his home here. Now a fashionable arts and entertainment district, it’s more welcoming than it used to be. Yet it still seduces visitors with its colorful walkways, lively pubs and famed canal tours.
