The Gardens of Marquessac

Vezac, France

Opened to the public in 1997 and listed as a National Historic Monument, Marqueyssac is the most visited garden in Périgord region. The park’s shaded trails cover more than 3 1/2 miles and overlook the stunning, chalky cliffs of the Dordogne Valley. Delight in the 150,000 meticulously hand-pruned boxwood shrubs that encase delightful pathways and whimsical staircases. Later, explore the garden’s 18th-century chateau, with its stunning terrace and coat-of-arms salon.
