Symi Island

Rhodes, Greece

It makes sense that Greece’s Symi Island, just north of the island of Rhodes, is named for a nymph that captured the attention of Poseidon, the god of the sea. Symi’s alluring azure waters have a way of drawing captivated travelers into its charming harbor, including Hollywood elite like George Clooney and Tom Hanks. Besides the simple beauty of the classically Greek white and yellow houses against the blue Aegean Sea, there’s another draw in Symi -- its festival, featuring food, dance and culture in July and August.
