Paris Las Vegas: The City of Lights in the City of Sin

Filed Under: Casino, Las Vegas, Resorts

If you've always wanted to have your picture taken atop the Eiffel Tower, croissant in hand, beret planted smartly on your head, now's your chance. Or at least, it's the best chance you'll get this side of the Atlantic. The 24-acre Paris Las Vegas offers up the pleasures of Sin City against a backdrop of the City of Lights' most famous landmarks. Not-quite-full-size replicas include a 50-story Eiffel Tower, a mini Arc de Triomphe and a remake of the Hotel de Ville, as well as facades of the Paris Opera House and the Louvre. In addition to 85,000 square feet of casino, the resort boasts 8 restaurants - French, of course - and a cobblestone lane lined with boutiques and cafes, Paris style. To convince yourself you haven't really left Nevada, take the glass elevator to the observation deck for a panoramic view of the Las Vegas Valley. Tres magnifique.

Main Attraction: A 50-story replica of the Eiffel Tower
Ideal For: Anyone with a little joie de vivre
Dining Options: Eight distinctly French restaurants, including the Eiffel Tower restaurant, 100 feet above the Strip
Accommodations: Designed to look like Paris' Hotel de Ville, the resort boasts 2,916 rooms, including 295 suites, all with enough French style to make you think you've landed on the other side of the Atlantic.
Fascinating Fact: Unlike the real Eiffel Tower, the replica is both fireproof and earthquake proof.
Claim to Fame: The creators of Vegas' Tower pushed for authenticity, going so far as to get designer Gustav Eiffel's original drawings to work from in creating the replica.
Entertainment Options Paris Las Vegas has featured favorites like Tony Bennett, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Lou Rawls and the Moody Blues.
Activities: Swim in the 2-acre, rooftop swimming pool or relax at the Mandara spa.
Casino Stats: All 85,000 square feet of the casino sit among street scenes of Paris, including cobblestone pathways, ornate street signs and a replica of The Pont Alexandre III - a picturesque bridge overlooking the casino and shops. There's also a 40-foot ceiling painted to resemble the Parisian sky.
