Mexico City Skyline

Mexico City’s skyline sits nestled in a valley surrounded by one of Mexico’s three Sierra Madre mountain ranges.

Palacio de Bellas Artes

Take a tour of this extravagant, neoclassical structure right in the heart of downtown. The Palacio de Bellas Artes is Mexico City’s main opera house.

Column of Independence

Located in downtown Mexico City, the Column of Independence was constructed to commemorate the beginning of Mexico’s War of Independence. The statues at the bottom of the column symbolize law, war, justice and peace.

Teotihuacan Ruins

Tourists stroll down the Avenue of the Dead to explore the Teotihuacan ancient ruins outside of Mexico City. You can get a great bird’s-eye view of the ruins from the Pyramid of the Moon (seen off in the distance).

Fuente de Petroleos

This beautiful fountain, situated in central Mexico City by Avenue Reforma and Periferico, commemorates the 75th anniversary of Mexico's national expropriation of all resources from petroleum.

Xochimilco Canals

One of the most unique cultural aspects of Mexico City are their boat rides along the Xochimilco canals. Tourists can set sail down the canals with rented boats filled with local food and musicians.

Chapultepec Castle

Located in Chapultepec Park, this gorgeous castle and the statues on its grounds, are now known as the National Museum of History (Museo Nacional de Historia) in Mexico City.

Metropolitan Cathedral

There is definitely no shortage of history in Mexico City. The Metropolitan Cathedral is not only the largest one of its kind in the Americas, it’s also the oldest.
