Flowering Lupins

Lake Tekapo, New Zealand

Located in the heart of the Mackenzie District, a 3-hour drive southwest of Christchurch, Lake Tekapo is part of a designated dark-sky reserve, making it a renowned place for stargazing. When day breaks, the milky, turquoise-colored lake becomes a hotbed of activity as people flock to the surrounding hot springs, enjoy alpine treks on horseback, or admire the flowering lupins, which bloom between November and January.
